Chapter Initiatives
Achievement Week
Observed each November and is designed to recognize those individuals at the local and international levels who have contributed to community uplift. A High School Essay Contest is to be held in conjunction with Achievement Week. (2022 Achievement Week)
Talent Hunt
Provides exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to talented young people participating in the performing arts. Winners are awarded recognition and may be given college scholarships at the local, district, and international level.
Thanksgiving Baskets
Observed every November and is designated to provide complete uncooked meals to families of the Murfreesboro/Rutherford County communities.
Dion Allen Manhood Academy
Is an initiative created to mentor the youth of Murfreesboro/Rutherford county. Brothers are asked to volunteer time and resources to help African American youth in the community. This is done through our partnership with Bradley Academy.
Christmas Baskets
Observed every December and is designated to provide complete uncooked meals to families of the Murfreesboro/Rutherford County communities.
Terry Looper Basketball Camp
Annual Basketball camp started in 1987 that serves the youth of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County in collaboration with MTSU Basketball.
Health Initiatives
The Health Initiative allows the chapter to participate and coordinate activities that promote good health practices. Some of the programs are the Charles Drew Blood Drive and partnership with the American Diabetes Association.
Mentorship
The Mentoring Program addresses the need for mentorship by local community members that extend beyond the university setting. It also addresses the need for community role models that MTSU students can admire and look up to while encouraged to persist and to aspire for themselves beyond Middle Tennessee State University.
Adopt-A-School
The brothers of Pi Gamma Gamma chapter partner with local schools for the purpose of providing solutions for the needs of people who live in their communities.
